Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club
The Caribbean has long seduced travelers with its turquoise waters, swaying palms, and legendary cocktails. But for golfers, the islands hold an entirely different special place in our hearts as these remote locales can provide some of the greatest locations for bucket list golf courses in the world. Â
The Caribbean delivers some of the most exceptional golf on the planet, and we have highlighted six of the best destinations that you should consider if you’re thinking about a little visit to the islands.
Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club – Anguilla, British West Indies
Anguilla has always been synonymous with understated luxury, and Aurora Anguilla takes that reputation to a whole new level. The International Course at Aurora Anguilla stretches across the island’s dramatic northern coast and provides sweeping Atlantic Ocean views of crystal clean turquoise waters that are simply breathtaking. With firm, fast fairways that are quite ample, Aurora’s defense lies on the greens as the undulated putting surfaces will keep you on your toes to score here. As you’ll see in our exclusive drone footage here, this course is gorgeous and worth the price of admission in and of itself.
The resort itself is a haven of refined Caribbean elegance with a touch of Mediterranean flair, and for a deeper dive into the experience at Aurora Anguilla see our feature here.
Casa de Campo – La Romana, Dominican Republic
No Caribbean golf trip list is complete without Casa de Campo, as this Caribbean gem put golf in the islands on the golf map. Pete Dye’s masterpiece known as Teeth of the Dog was named for its jagged coral formations that define its coastline, and the course consistently ranks among the top courses in the world, let alone the Caribbean. Multiple holes play directly along the ocean creating a visual drama that never grows old regardless of how many rounds you play here. The resort complex also houses the Dye Fore and The Links courses, giving guests 45 additional holes of championship golf as the Dye Fore course is home to three 9-hole routings. Beyond the courses, Casa de Campo is a self-contained village with world-class restaurants, a shooting range, polo fields, a marina, and an authentic cobblestone village called Altos de Chavón that feels like it was plucked from a different century.

Punta Espada Golf Club – Cap Cana, Dominican Republic
If Casa de Campo put golf in the Dominican Republic on the map, it was Punta Espada that solidified its place as a Bonafide bucket list destination. Jack Nicklaus saved some of his finest work for this gem in the Dominican Republic. Punta Espada is set within the luxurious Cap Cana development, and it is widely considered the Golden Bear’s Caribbean masterpiece. Eight holes play along or over the crystalline Caribbean Sea, with the oceanside stretches representing some of the most breathtaking golf real estate in the hemisphere. You’ll immediately experience this as you look down on the par-5 2nd hole that provides one of the best views that we’ve ever seen in golf. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful golf courses anywhere in the world.
The course rewards strategic thinking as golfers must choose their lines carefully on tee shots that dare you to carry more of the sea than you should. The surrounding Cap Cana resort community offers upscale accommodations, a world-class marina, and access to Juanillo Beach, one of the region’s most photographed stretches of sand. While you can certainly book directly here, we recommend finding a trusted advisor in the area as getting around the Dominican can be a bit daunting. If you’re looking for a good team you can trust, check out Group Palmera as their staff knows golf and has exclusive access to some incredible lodging opportunities.

White Witch Golf Course at Rose Hall – Montego Bay, Jamaica
Perched high in the hills above Montego Bay, White Witch is Jamaica’s most celebrated golf experience. The Robert von Hagge and Rick Baril design winds through a former sugar plantation, offering panoramic views of the Caribbean below that can stop you in your tracks. The elevation changes are significant, adding both strategic complexity and visual grandeur, and the course blends a variety of holes as one minute you are playing among the Jamaican forests, and the next you are playing along the ocean. Named after the infamous Annie Palmer who was called the “White Witch of Rose Hall,” the course carries an air of mystique that lingers long after the round ends. The adjacent Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara resorts provide all-inclusive luxury that pairs beautifully with a round or two on the White Witch or nearby Cinnamon Hill Golf Club.
Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies – Nevis, West Indies
Nevis is one of the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets, and the Nevis Golf Club at the Four Seasons Nevis, West Indies on this emerald island is equally well-guarded. Robert Trent Jones Jr.’s design climbs the slopes of Nevis Peak, a dormant volcano that provides a theatrical backdrop on just about every hole. The course plays dramatically differently depending on where you are on the mountain with certain locations that feature breezy and exposed elements on the upper holes, and then a more lush, sheltered feeling down below. Monkeys are a regular feature of the gallery here, scrambling through the trees while you try to focus on your next shot. The Four Seasons Resort itself is among the finest in the Caribbean, with exceptional dining and service that makes leaving feel genuinely difficult.

Sandy Lane – St. James, West Indies, Barbados
Barbados may be better known for its cricket pitches and rum distilleries, but the Sandy Lane Hotel has quietly assembled one of the great golf portfolios in the Caribbean. The Green Monkey course, aptly named for the vervet monkeys that roam the property, was built into a former limestone quarry by Tom Fazio and stands as one of the most architecturally distinctive courses in the world. The quarry setting creates towering walls of stone that frame certain holes in an almost surreal way. Sandy Lane also offers the Old Nine and Country Club courses, giving guests 45 holes of golf alongside Fobes Five-Star hospitality. The resort itself is steeped in island-style luxury, and a vacation here will certainly leave a lasting impression.
