When it comes to finding a Caribbean golf destination that stands out from the pack, then Aurora Anguilla is the perfect option.
Located in Anguilla, an island that is part of the British West Indies near Saint Martin and St. Barths, Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club has quietly emerged as one of the Caribbean’s most compelling destinations for a golf getaway.
What makes it especially intriguing is not just the quality of its golf, but the way the entire resort experience has been developed to complement and elevate your time off the course.
For travelers seeking a blend of championship golf, refined luxury, and a relaxing island atmosphere, Aurora Anguilla offers you everything you could want and more.
The golf
As the only championship golf course in Anguilla, the Aurora International Golf Club provides you with the quintessential Caribbean golf experience. The ocean views here are exceptional, and you get an early reveal of this Atlantic Ocean beauty the moment your round begins.
These views are accentuated on the second hole as this picturesque par-3 shares a massive double green with the par-5 10th hole with a dramatic backdrop that provides jaw-dropping beauty. As you’ll see from our exclusive drone footage above, this course is absolutely gorgeous and offers a great Greg Norman-designed test that highlights the beauty of its natural surroundings while also providing a stern test of golf.
The course places a premium on ball placement as the course features ample bunkering and water hazards to protect par. A thoughtful golfer can think his or her way around this layout by playing to the safe side of fairways and focusing on hitting approach shots to the center of greens to score here. The combination of coastal breezes, thoughtful design, and perfect conditioning makes for an exceptional day on the course.
In addition to the championship layout at Aurora Anguilla, the resort also features the Avalon Links Short Course, a fun nine-hole par-3 course that can be played and walked in around an hour and is great for both serious and casual golfers.

Resort lifestyle at its finest
When you arrive at Aurora Anguilla, you are instantly struck with the size of the property and the beautiful aesthetics. Not only does the natural setting in paradise set the vibe, but the Mediterranean styling with its whitewashed buildings and open-air architecture in the main lobby areas provides a luxurious feel and relaxing setting to enjoy this little slice of utopia.
The nice thing about the scale of the property is that you never feel like the resort is too crowded during your stay, so you can still enjoy a boutique feeling while getting all the trimmings of a larger property.
There are two main wings at Aurora Angulla: Rendezvous Beach and Merrywing Bay. Rendezvous Beach features Beach Villas, Garden Villas, and multiple Beach Front Junior Suites to call home during your stay as well as easy access to the fitness center and the Sorana Spa. Merrywing Bay is home to Merrywing Tower and multiple Oceanfront Junior Suites.
This side of the resort is a short walk from the incredible Aurora Entertainment Park that features the massive Water Park with multiple slides and a lazy river, tennis and pickleball courts, mini golf, and so much more. Each side also has their own large pool, beachside lounge chairs, and waterfront dining to enjoy the splendor of the location.
Regardless of which side you call home during your visit, there are ample shuttles available on property to take you wherever you need that are available within a matter of minutes upon request. And for those guests who are traveling with a larger group or family, you could also consider one of the multi-bedroom Villas or the Estates that feature their own private swimming pools and dedicated butler service for the ultimate in luxury onsite.
Dining is a standout highlight at Aurora Anguilla, with multiple restaurants ranging from casual beachfront venues to more refined culinary experiences. The resort has installed its own hydroponic farm which supplies fresh produce to the kitchens on property creating a farm-to-table dynamic rarely seen at Caribbean resorts.
A favorite of ours was Anguilla’s only steakhouse D Richard’s which is located at the golf course and features a balcony bar that looks down the 18th hole all the way to the water. We also highly recommend Tokyo Bay, a modern take on Japanese cuisine where you can enjoy everything from fresh sushi to a teppanyaki dining experience.
These are only two of the many options available, and after your meal you can always grab a cocktail at one of the open-air bars and lounges to cap off the perfect day in paradise.
Part of Aurora’s allure lies in its location. Anguilla has long been known for having some of the Caribbean’s most pristine beaches, yet it remains quieter and more understated than neighboring islands.
The absence of cruise ship crowds and large-scale commercialization gives it a refined, almost private feel, yet one thing you will notice are the number of yachts that set anchor just off the coast as the uber wealthy know where the best experiences can be had. We highly recommend taking advantage of these pristine waters as the resort can help you enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, guided cave tours, fishing, diving, paddle boarding, private boat charters, and more.
Overall, Aurora Anguilla is, in a word, magical. It can handle any type of golf trip, but it is known for being exceptional for a couples getaway and it is quickly emerging as a favorite for family golf trips. The championship course provides the challenge and visual drama that avid golfers crave, while the resort itself delivers the comfort, variety, and beauty that define a truly memorable trip.
For those seeking a golf getaway that feels both elevated and effortless, Aurora Anguilla stands as one of the Caribbean’s most compelling options.
Start planning today as we have a feeling that this island gem is only going to continue to become more popular in the coming years.
