There are some places that you visit that exude that feeling of an authentic golf resort from the moment you arrive.Â
When you find yourself approaching Erin Hills, the unassuming entrance features a small sign and a friendly guard at the gated entrance that gives you directions on how to get to the course. As you make your way around the winding road and you approach the main clubhouse and lodging, you know that you have arrived at one of golf’s greatest treasures.Â
Located in Hartford, Wisconsin about 45 minutes northwest of Milwaukee, Erin Hills is a treasure that any golfer is sure to love.Â
The course caught a lot of attention on the national golf scene during the 2017 U.S. Open when Brooks Koepka won his first major here, but the USGA had clocked the specialness of this course long before that as they first hosted the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links here in 2008, and then the U.S. Amateur in 2011.Â
The property added another distinguished event here with the U.S. Mid-Amateur in 2022, and now the course will host the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open on May 28-June 1, 2025. Â
This is the first of a series of USGA events that have been promised to the property over the next 15 years that will include hosting the 2027 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball, the 2030 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball, the 2033 U.S. Women’s Amateur, the 2035 U.S. Amateur, and the 2039 U.S. Junior Amateur. As an anchor location of the USGA for their premier events, that should tell you how special this place truly is.
While we could go on and on about how this course delivers from start to finish, we’ve taken the liberty of droning the course for you here so you can see it for yourself. Enjoy our exclusive footage, and we hope this inspires you to get this on to your golf vacation rotation as it certainly deserves to be on the list.
