The time has finally come. Streamsong Resort commissioned the talents of the legendary David McLay Kidd to bring their latest championship golf course to life, and as you’ll see in our exclusive drone footage of the entire course here he knocked it out of the park with Bone Valley.
This course brings an entirely new feel to the property as this layout has an eclectic mix of holes creating a variety of shots that will challenge every club in your bag. Some approach shots feature steep drop offs and run off areas, while others have surrounding areas that bank back towards the greens bringing you a great mix of both challenge and playability.
This blend has become a signature combination for McLay Kidd who first showed us this philosophy at Bandon Dunes which first put him on the golf architecture map. Golfers raved about the visually stunning look of the layout, and his unique design philosophy allowed higher handicap golfers to comfortably get around while still bringing plenty of challenge to better players.
His reputation has only continued to grow over the years with designs like Gamble Sands and Scarecrow at Gamble Sands, Mammoth Dunes at Sand Valley, and the Castle Course at St. Andrews.
Landing McLay Kidd to lead this project was a major priority for Streamsong, and his addition of Bone Valley to the resort has allowed Streamsong to assemble a Mt. Rushmore of modern architects with designs by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw (Red, The Link, and The Chain), Tom Doak (Blue), and Gil Hanse (Black).
It’s always entertaining to hear how golfers rank their favorite courses at Streamsong after a visit here, and we have a strong inclination that Bone Valley is going to be at, or near the top, of most golfers lists after they play it.
More importantly, we love how Bone Valley blends into the overall experience at Streamsong.
With 91 holes onsite now, Streamsong has elevated its profile to being that of a destination, not just a golf resort. In addition to adding Bone Valley, the resort has also invested heavily into their lodging options, and they are set to open their new Golf Cabins in January of 2027.
These multi-bedroom units are located near The Lodge and feature multiple bedrooms with varying combinations of single and double beds, ample living rooms areas, and a balcony with a fire pit. It’s the perfect addition for a property that is home to so many buddies trips, and you’ll want to book these quickly as we are sure they will sell out fast.
It’s incredible to see what the team at Streamsong has done with this piece of land over the years, and the addition of Bone Valley is the perfect complement to an already impressive portfolio.
