Reynolds Lake Oconee to add seventh course to its portfolio

Reynolds Lake Oconee, located just more than an hour east of Atlanta in Greensboro, Georgia, is bringing in the talents of the iconic architect Tom Fazio to add a seventh golf course to its already stunning golf-course lineup.

This new project will involve the creation of nine new holes alongside the existing Bluff nine from Fazio’s National Course design to create a new 18-hole layout which will join The Creek Club as the two golf courses that are exclusive to the membership.

This new design features more than 100 feet of elevation change and will integrate unique features of the new land including a creek, large natural boulders, and an existing pond. The new nine features terrain that gradually slopes down toward a cove of Lake Oconee, and the vistas from the highest points here are going to create some incredible views for the membership to enjoy.

”My goal is always to create distinctive, one-of-a-kind golf courses,” Fazio said. “There’s a lot of terrain variation—lots of ups and downs, ins and outs, twists and turns—which is great for golf. That’s what makes this such a fine natural setting.”

The new 18-hole experience is scheduled to open in late 2024 as construction is already underway — and we know the final product will be first class.

Great Waters, The Preserve, The Oconee, The Landing, and the Ridge and Cove nines at The National will all still be accessible to visitors, providing 90 holes of exceptional golf during a stay-and-play vacation.
