Pebble Beach completes renovation projects at The Lodge

The Lodge Lounge

With more than a 100-year history to compare against, setting the bar higher and higher while continuing to exceed guest’s expectations at every turn, can be a daunting challenge.

And yet, somehow, the team at Pebble Beach Resorts has managed to enhance the experience onsite once again with a recent round of renovation projects. As the resort prepares to host its seventh U.S. Open in 2027, they have gone all-in to showcase this iconic venue to the world and ensure Pebble Beach continues to be one of the best bucket-list experiences in all of golf.

For the renovations at The Lodge, it was important to showcase the stunning backdrop of the 18th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links, as it offers one of the most breathtaking views in the game.  The recent renovation focused on a reimagining of the entryway into The Lodge main building to open these views up for all to enjoy — setting the tone for your entire visit.

In addition to these grand entrance changes, the renovations also focused on upgrading two of the most famous restaurants on property — Stillwater and The Tap Room. Stillwater provides guests with the premier waterfront dining locale at Pebble Beach, and the recent changes aimed to take advantage of its grand location by expanding the outdoor terrace, further immersing guests in views of Stillwater Cove all while enjoying exquisite California coastal cuisine in an elevated environment.

Another major change comes at arguably the most famous 19th hole in golf known as The Tap Room at Pebble Beach.  This legendary venue has been welcoming golfers, celebrities, guests, and neighbors for more than 75 years now. The team was careful with this renovation to keep the essence of what makes The Tap Room so special, all while bringing in a more modern flair to the design. Deep green walls and tailored leather booths pay homage to the resort’s storied past while the rich wood accents provide the classic feel of the game’s best clubs. Guests can also enjoy a plethora of Pebble Beach memorabilia throughout the restaurant including Tom Watson’s wedge that he famously used to chip in on the 17th hole that helped him win the 1982 U.S. Open.

David Stivers, the CEO of Pebble Beach Company, commented on these changes saying, “The Tap Room has always been more than a restaurant — it’s where Pebble Beach history comes to life. With a refreshed design and menu, it builds on its legacy as the gathering place where the game’s past and present meet.”

While multiple dining outlets and public spaces were among the main beneficiaries of these enhancements, the renovations also included redesigning the rooms and suites on property to provide elevated views alongside upgrading the interior to further embody the luxurious nature of the resort.

In addition to these updates at The Lodge, the upcoming renovation of The Links at Spanish Bay is set to begin under the expert eye of Gil Hanse in March 2026. We cannot wait to see what Hanse and his team do with this stunning piece of property, and we will be sure to keep you updated on this project as it continues to develop.

Overall, it’s yet another example of how the best never rest, continuing to push the boundaries in a pursuit of excellence. It’s what continues to make Pebble Beach the icon that it is, and you and yours should visit as soon as possible to enjoy this unforgettable venue.
