In early April, The Cabot Collection unveiled the name and logo for the new 18-hole, Tom Doak-designed track at Cabot Highlands in Inverness, Scotland.
The new course will be named “Old Petty,” which is a tribute to Inverness’ rich history, while the course routing brings golfers close to the 400-year-old Castle Stuart.
According to a press release, “Old Petty” is a “nod nod to Old Petty Church, which was built in 1839.
The logo honors the region’s iconic highland cow (or “Hairy Coo” as the local Scots affectionately call them).
It’ll be a few more months before golfers can get a taste of Old Petty, as the Collection says that it will be ready for preview play in 2025.
The opening will come alongside an 11,000-square-foot clubhouse with a whisky and cigar bar, and clubhouse grill bar and chophouse restaurant.
Cabot Highlands is currently home to Castle Stuart Golf Links (ranked in the top 100 courses in the world by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine).
Doak is no stranger to destination golf courses, including Pacific Dunes at Bandon Dunes in Oregon, the Blue Course at Streamsong Resort in central Florida and Ballyneal Lane in Colorado.
