Off-course activities at Keystone Resort
You’ve come all the way to the Rocky Mountains and, as much as they make for an epic backdrop, we suggest that you don’t just stare at them but that you get out and enjoy them.
It all starts with a beautiful scenic gondola ride to the top of Keystone Mountain. Once you’ve reached the top, enjoy the incredible views of Lake Dillon, the Continental Divide, and the Ten Mile Range. From there, you can partake in the Dercum Summit Hiking Trail, or you can enjoy the lift-serviced bike park where you can test your mountain biking skills on one of the several downhill trails.
Another favorite experience for families can be found at the Keystone Stables, where you can enjoy the majestic beauty of Soda Creek Valley on a scenic wagon ride or saddle up on a horse (or pony for younger children) for an authentic cowboy experience.
The scenery is mesmerizing and Keystone Resort makes sure that each visitor can find a way to enjoy it at their own pace.
The golf at Keystone
Dramatic elevation changes, holes winding along the Snake River, and a trek through a lodgepole pine forest define your journey around The River Course.
While the course isn’t overly tight throughout, several of the tee shots do require a bit more attention and finding the short grass makes a huge difference on your ability to score here. The same goes for the greens, which are ample in size, but often are angled with bunkers, placing a premium on your approach shots.
To see for yourself, take a look at our exclusive drone footage of the course here. Â
For a completely different golf experience, golfers can take on the Keystone Ranch Course, which sits in a mountain valley and was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. It’s located on a piece of land that was historically for ranching and once housed multiple homesteads in the 1900s. The team here did an incredible job of paying homage to its roots, as they left several outbuildings on the property that first come into sight as you play Nos. 4-6 on the front side.
The course is simply beautiful and the serene setting makes for a perfect place to enjoy 18 holes of exceptional golf. To see what we mean, check out our drone footage here.
