Crowbush Cove
We are obsessed with value when it comes to planning a golf trip. Value is impossible to define as it changes from person to person, and we are huge believers that value doesn’t mean something is inexpensive; it simply means that the experience of the trip for the amount of money you spent is considered to be a great deal when everything is said and done.
For example, we think Pebble Beach offers exceptional value even if it is one of the pricier golf trips available in North America. The price tag may be at a premium there, but the level of experience is exceptional and therefore makes it a great value.
Now that our definition of value has been established, we can comfortably say that the golf in Prince Edward Island, Canada, is among the best value golf trips in the game. Period.
The level of golf for the price that you will pay is simply incredible, and for those visiting from the United States, the current exchange rate makes it a steal as even the most premium, oceanside golf course experiences here peak at under $150 U.S.
That’s unheard of value in today’s marketplace, and we’ve highlighted a few of the key assets for you here to further assist you with a trip to this Canadian gem.
The golf
Known for having more than 400 fairways of available golf on Prince Edward Island across 25 golf courses, there’s a plethora of options for great golf that can certainly fit any budget. For vacation planning purposes, the courses are divided up into the Eastern, North Shore, Western, and Central regions.
The Eastern region is a favorite amongst traveling golfers as it has three of the premium golf experiences in PEI with Brudenell River, Crowbush Cove, and Dundarave. While these three are sure to blow you away, we also love some of the hidden gems here like Avondale Golf Club or the fun 9-holer Belfast Highland Greens. You can play here for about $25 U.S. which includes golf holes that play right along the coastline…simply unbelievable value.
The Western region is home to Mill River which features one championship course but has a resort onsite with a myriad of amenities, and the Central region is home to Belvedere, Countryview, Fox Meadow, and Clyde River.
The North Shore region features the most golf courses, and that makes sense as it sits closest to the largest city on the island, Charlottetown. The golf courses here include Andersons Creek, Eagles Glenn, Forest Hills, Green Gables, Glasgow Hills, Red Sands, Rustico Resort, and Stanhope.

More about Prince Edward Island
PEI is located on the Eastern Coast of Canada, and the entire province is just under 2,200 square miles in size. For some context, that’s about the size of the state of Delaware in the U.S. From tip to tip, it’s about a three-hour drive so it’s easy to set up a trip, making it easy to include activities all over the island, all from the “home base” of the accommodations of your choice.
The first thing you’ll notice during a visit here is the people. Canada is known for having some of the nicest people on the planet, but that level of friendliness is taken up another notch on PEI. With about 175,000 total residents on the island, there’s a neighborly vibe that makes its way to guests visiting here that is sure to leave a mark on your trip.
Canada’s Golf Island also features 1,100 km (nearly 700 miles) of shoreline, so not only will you be able to enjoy oceanside views from the course, but there are also a multitude of beaches to enjoy during your visit here.
As you and your group immerse yourselves in the Prince Edward Island culture, you’ll want to enjoy the legendary culinary scene of the island. As you can imagine with its location, the seafood available here is world-renowned including their famous PEI mussels, lobster, oysters, and fresh fish. The farms on the island are known for their fertile soil, and other local agricultural specialties include world-renowned potatoes and delicious beef.
Peak season for golf trips here starts in mid-June and runs through September, but conditions tend to become playable in early May and run through late October, where you can find even more value during these shoulder season periods, which is hard to believe. PEI has never been more popular, so start planning early, as the demand is getting quite high here, and you’ll be glad you ventured to one of Canada’s premier golfing destinations.
