Before we first made our way to Kiva Dunes, we had constantly heard great things about the experience, but it wasn’t until we got there that we realized how amazing the greater Gulf Shores, Alabama area truly is.
Located on a skinny sliver of land that separates the Gulf of America and Bon Secour Bay, this resort features beautiful beaches, fantastic accommodations including condos or rental homes, and a stunning 18-hole golf course as you’ll see in our exclusive drone footage below.

The Sea Pines Resort – Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
Few golf courses in the world are as important as Harbour Town Golf Links. This wonderful layout that was originally designed by the iconic duo of Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus, put golf in Hilton Head on the map when the Fraser family originally commissioned the pair to bring this course to life in order to host the RBC Heritage event on the PGA Tour. Many of the players who played in that first event in 1969 were critical of the design as they found it to be quite difficult, but one gentleman, who happened to win the event, raved about the layout. That person was none other than Arnold Palmer, and the King’s stamp of approval vaulted both Dye’s and Nicklaus’ design careers giving us hundreds of courses between the two of them, let alone all the courses that have resulted from their disciples like Bill Coore, Tom Doak, Bobby Weed, and Jim Urbina.
Davis Love III and his brother Mark were recently commissioned to come in and restore the golf course, and their efforts have been lauded by both Tour players and the media for keeping the historic charm of this iconic track intact. The Love brothers also redesigned Pete Dye’s Atlantic Dunes a few years ago, and the success of that project has vaulted their standing in the golf architecture forums.
