Nicklaus North
Here at GolfStayAndPlays.com, we are always on the lookout for great deals and experiences for our readers. Â
To celebrate that, we’ve created a series that focuses on packages that we think excel in these two areas. Here is a list of some upcoming deals that we have recently found that we thought you should consider for any future golf getaways:
Big Sky Golf Club, Fairmont Chateau Whistler, and Nicklaus North – Whistler, British Columbia
Right now, the value for golf trips to Canada is through the roof as the U.S. dollar to the Canadian dollar is currently exchanging at 1.42 (as of July 6, 2026). That means the value for a golf trip over the border has never been better, and the level of golf that is provided in Whistler is through the roof. Located just north of Vancouver in Western Canada, Whistler is a cornucopia of outdoor activities that includes incredible hiking, biking, ziplining, whitewater rafting, or taking a Peak 2 Peak Gondola ride to enjoy the awesome beauty of the area.
We are of course focusing on the area though because of its incredible golf, and for golfers interested in booking a package in 2026 you have three amazing options available for this season as currently Whistler Golf Club is getting a refresh and should be back open in 2027. Big Sky Golf Club is located just north of the Whistler Village city center (about a 30-minute drive), and it features some of the most stunning mountain backdrops that you’ll find throughout your rounds in the area. It’s never been in better shape, and it provides a fair yet beautiful test with undulating greens that any golfer is sure to love. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club exudes luxury from the moment you arrive onsite, and the course is stunning from start to finish as the combination of the mountainous backdrops and the purple lupin flowers that engulf many of the holes. It is a shotmaker’s golf course that rewards strategy over brawn, so make sure you think your way around this course accordingly. Nicklaus North Golf Course rounds out the courses in the area here, and this Jack Nicklaus Signature Design is manicured to perfection and provides you with a semi-private facility that will test every shot in your bag. As you’re likely noticing with the theme for golf in this area, the mountainous vistas are incredible here and it’s a must play on any trip here.
From a lodging perspective, there are a myriad of great options in Whistler Village including the Crystal Lodge and the Fairmount Chateau Whistler all available at variable price points, and if you’re willing to bunk up with a friend it can bring the overall rate down here to be quite affordable. With golf packages starting as low as $236 USD per person per night as you’ll see here, you’ll quickly see it may be time for you and your crew to head north and enjoy this incredible golf destination.
Big Sky Golf Club
Pinehurst Resort – Pinehurst, North Carolina
The home of American Golf. The moniker alone should be enough to get you excited about a trip to Pinehurst, and if you and your crew are looking for a great last minute summer getaway idea then take a look at the Donald Ross Summer Special here that is valid from 5/31/26 through 9/7/26. They’ve lowered the cost for a third night and fourth round down to just $199 per person, and the total cost for a package in this window can now be as low as $1,719 per person on a 4 day, 3-night stay. Please note this is for double occupancy stays, and this is before taxes and fees. There is also a $250 premium which applies to rounds on No. 2. and a premium of $125 for rounds on No. 10. Even still, this is insane value for a resort that belongs on the Mount Rushmore of the Best Golf Resorts in the United States, so be sure to act fast.
Pinehurst Resort No. 10
Barefoot Resort & Golf – Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
When it comes to travel golf in the United States, the destination that has become synonymous with stay and play golf vacations is Myrtle Beach. With so many golf courses available, it can be hard to know where to book your golf vacation, but don’t worry…we’ve got you covered. Barefoot Resort & Golf can be a one-stop-shop for all of your Myrtle Beach golf needs as they have four fantastic golf courses all under one roof, and they have a special running now where if you book a round on all 4 golf courses between 10/26/26 and 1/3/27, you will receive 30% off the price of each round! That’s unreal value to play the Love, Dye, Fazio, and Norman courses here, so if your group has been eyeing a trip to Myrtle Beach this could be the perfect time to go.
