Golf Packages We Love April 2025

Old Course at St. Andrews

Here at GolfStayAndPlays.com, we are always on the lookout for great deals and experiences for our readers.

To celebrate that, we’ve created a series that focuses on packages that we think excel in these two areas.  Here is a list of some upcoming deals that we have recently found that we thought you should consider for any future golf getaways:

Scotland package with guaranteed Old Course tee time (St. Andrews, Scotland)

If you and your group have gone through the process of trying to book an epic golf adventure to Scotland, you know just how hard the process is to lock down a guaranteed tee time at the Old Course at St. Andrews.  Lucky for you, our friends at Lyons Links have a rare opportunity for a lucky twosome to get their hands on a package this August that has you covered as you’ll see here.

As an avid golfer, playing the Old Course is a rite of passage that we hope everyone can experience at least once in your lifetime. As you step on the first tee here, it suddenly hits you that any player you’ve ever looked up to has graced that same tee with their presence and that our great game would not exist if it wasn’t for this sacred piece of land.

This 6-day, 5-night package includes your golf and accommodations at not only the Old Course, but also a round at its sister Jubilee Course at St. Andrews, a day at Open Championship venue Carnoustie, and a round each at two of the more recent additions to the area that golfers rave about with Dumbarnie Links and Kingsbarns, a course that has quickly risen up the ranks of the best courses in Scotland as evidenced by our drone footage below.  With a great mix of iconic venues alongside the best of the newest courses near St. Andrews, this package has it all.

McLemore (Rising Fawn, Georgia)

As one of the hottest new golf properties in the United States, McLemore is now home to 36 holes of fantastic golf that feature some of the most dramatic cliffside views that you’ll find on a course anywhere in the world.  The Highlands Course opened a few years ago to rave reviews, and the addition of The Keep has solidified this resorts’ position as a must-visit destination.

From a golf package perspective, there is a variety of options for guests to enjoy that include staying in a golf cottage, a villa, a home, or enjoying one of the 245 rooms at the Cloudland Lookout Mountain, Curio Collection by Hilton.

In addition to the two marquee golf courses, there is The Cairn Short Course, a fun 6-hole routing, that you can enjoy during your stay. You can also experience some of the amenities the resort has to offer including wonderful dining venues, hiking trails, biking, caving, waterfalls, and so much more.

SentryWorld (Stevens Point, Wisconsin)

Wisconsin is without a doubt one of the best places in the country for a golf vacation during the summer months. In a state that has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to memorable golf, we are always on the lookout for great places to enjoy that leave a lasting impression and provide a ton of value.  One of these special experiences can be found at SentryWorld.

This incredible property has become famous for its iconic 16-hole, the par 3 known as the “Flower Hole” as this one hole has about 40,000 flowers planted on it annually to create one of the most visually stunning holes in all of golf as you’ll see in our footage below.  While this may have been the hole that put the resort on the map, the entire golf experience here is exceptional and it recently hosted the 2023 U.S Senior Open Championship so you know that if it’s earned the USGA’s seal of approval, then it must be good.

The overall experience here is all about making your round special as the tee times are spaced 20 minutes apart, and throughout your round you will find on-course refreshment stations where all your food and drinks (including cocktails, beer, wine, and seltzers) are all included in the price of your round of golf.

While day guests can certainly play here without staying on property, you are missing out if you don’t make an evening of it as The Inn at SentryWorld is among the best resorts that we’ve stayed at in the Midwest.
