Rodeo Dunes
Colorado is one of the best golf destinations in the United States, offering traveling golfers a rare combination of mountain courses, prairie links, and world-class resort experiences.
The state’s elevation, dramatic scenery, and architectural variety — from historic resort layouts to bold modern designs — make it a standout choice for a golf trip unlike any other. Whether you’re planning a weekend escape or a full golf vacation in Colorado, the destinations below represent some of the finest the state has to offer.
The Broadmoor – Colorado Springs
The Broadmoor is widely considered by many to be the state’s most iconic golf destination. Golf has been central to the resort since its first course opened in 1918, designed by legendary architect Donald Ross at the request of founder Spencer Penrose. Today, the Broadmoor’s East and West Courses, later refined by Robert Trent Jones Sr., showcase classic parkland golf framed by Cheyenne Mountain.
Championship pedigree defines the property, with multiple U.S. Senior Opens and U.S. Women’s Opens contested here, cementing its reputation as the “Grand Dame of the Rockies.” For traveling golfers, the Broadmoor offers a rare combination of history, conditioning, and luxury resort hospitality that few destinations in the United States can match.

TPC Colorado – Berthoud, Colorado
Modern championship golf takes center stage at TPC Colorado. Designed to showcase the dramatic scale of Colorado’s Front Range, the course features massive fairways, bold bunkering, and a tournament ready layout that is home to The Blue Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.
This course is a beast as it stretches out to almost 8,000 yards from the back tees, but don’t worry as they offer seven sets of tee options so you can find the length that is comfortable to you and your crew. The layout here blends mountain range backdrops, parkland styling with lush green grass and crystal blue water hazards, along with links-style elements like stacked-sod pot bunkers to create a unique setting.

Rodeo Dunes – Roggen, Colorado
Perhaps the most anticipated golf destination in the state is Rodeo Dunes which is currently under development northeast of Denver. Built across more than 4,000 acres of natural sand dunes, the project is being developed by the Keiser family, the group behind Bandon Dunes and Sand Valley, with courses designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw alongside architect Jim Craig.
The landscape evokes inland links golf reminiscent of Ireland, with rugged contours and firm conditions that will make for a unique design in Colorado. With multiple courses planned and opening phases expected later this decade, Rodeo Dunes has the potential to redefine destination golf in the Rocky Mountain region.
