The Monument in many ways lives up to its name, paying tribute to the game’s greatest course designers at every turn, with the likes of Donald Ross, Alister Mackenzie, Pete Dye, George Fazio and Robert Trent Jones all leaving their mark on this Michigan gem. Ultimately designed by Bill Newcomb, the course has holes dedicated to not only the designers, but also players. Your game needs to be sharp, as the fairways aren’t a given and the undulating greens cause one to putt with caution. The par-72 layout plays just under 7,000 yards from the tips, while featuring two par-3s that play at more than 200 yards, testing your long-iron game.
