When it comes to talking to golfers about their favorite golf resorts, you’ll often hear a wide variety of iconic destinations that frequent the list amongst the games’ most passionate players.
One of those resorts that often tops the list for golfers is Destination Kohler. As the home of the legendary Straits at Whistling Straits, this resort provides 82 holes of exceptional golf and a variety of experiences that will leave even the most discerning guest wanting more.
So, the question becomes how does the team at Kohler continue to enhance your experience as a guest? That’s a challenge that its team does not take lightly, and they’ve done an incredible job at reinvesting funds back into the guest experience and finding new ways to create unforgettable memories for you and your friends on your next golf vacation here.
We’ve highlighted just a few of the ways here for you that they are making this happen.

Collaboration with artist Daniel Arsham
As well-known as the brand Kohler is in the golf space, they have an even broader reach with its kitchen and bath products as you undoubtedly have seen the tagline “The Bold Look of Kohler” over the years. This statement is at the core of the design of Kohler’s plumbing products, and the brand is always looking for new ways to bring fashion and function into your home.
Enter Daniel Arsham.
Arsham is a world-renowned artist who has become famous for his use of eroded products, and the partnership between the two brands started in the kitchen and bath category a few years ago with a limited production of 99 limited edition sinks that utilized new school 3D-printing technology in ceramics alongside heritage materials to seamlessly blend old and new technologies to blend the future and the past in a unique way. The sinks sold out in minutes, and it was obvious that unifying the talents of Arsham and Kohler was a winning combination.
After seeing the success of this collaboration, the team at Kohler will be expanding this partnership on the kitchen and bath side with more products including a new sink, bathroom pulls, and bathtub fixtures with a new Landshapes collection. Destination Kohler is also enlisting the services of Arsham at the resort, and this collaboration will create the first crossover partnership between the kitchen and bath team and the hospitality team, which will hopefully be the first of many instances where this occurs.
When asked about how this collaboration would work on the golf side, Arsham said:
“Incorporating my sculptures into the golf landscape will hopefully spark conversation about creative expression and golf in a whole new way. There is a kind of artistic, architectural, even sculptural proposition that’s inherent in the game of golf, where you end up playing against the creator of the course itself. We created an atmosphere where unexpected wonders emerge out of the blue, offering moments of surprise, and beckoning guests and the community to explore our world from a new perspective.”
Throughout your stay at Destination Kohler, you will likely encounter one, if not all, of the six large-scale sculptures that will be prominently showcased throughout the property. Two of these sculptures can be found at Whistling Straits, including one next to the iconic par-3 17th hole (as if there wasn’t already enough natural beauty to observe on one of the best par-3s in the game of golf) and one adjacent to the clubhouse.
Two more of the sculptures are located at Blackwolf Run with one at The Baths of Blackwolf Run, and a second near the 18th green of the Meadow Valleys course at Blackwolf Run. The final two pieces are located closer to the resort, with one located in a green space near The Design Center and one at The Shops at Woodlake. Overall, these beautiful structures make a statement onsite and enhance the overall feel of the experience throughout your stay.
For guests looking to fully immerse themselves in the artist’s vision, Kohler has also created the Arsham Cabin which is located on a bluff and was fully designed by the artist himself. This two-bedroom, two-bath features the new Landshapes bathroom collection and has a zen garden with multiple sculptures designed by Arsham.
Arsham has also teamed up with Malbon for a limited edition run of exclusive apparel and accessories that can be found here. Many of these products incorporate the wonderful light turquoise color that can be found on most of the statues that naturally occurs from the erosion of the unearthed bronze amongst the elements of nature.

Additional enhancements to Destination Kohler
In addition to the artistic enrichments to the property, Destination Kohler has also been focusing on ways to make your stay more pleasant with a resolute focus on guest experience. These improvements have included increasing the tee time intervals to 15 minutes on The Straits at Whistling Straits, as well as a complete renovation of the Kohler Waters Spa that is scheduled to open in Q3/Q4 of 2024. These changes have already been implemented or are in the final phases of completion. New firepits surrounding the 18th green of the Straits at Whistling Straits and terrace of the Irish Barn.
The resort also has additional changes coming that are currently in the pipeline, adding a food truck at The Baths at Blackwolf Run and a food trailer to the Irish at Whistling Straits, and a complete renovation of all the bathrooms at Whistling Straits to reflect the level of excellence that is synonymous with the Kohler brand.
Overall, this commitment to excellence is why Destination Kohler is continuously considered one of the best golf resorts in the world, and we hope you and your group can enjoy some of these enhancements on your next visit here.
