Located in the southwest corner of Utah, about 120 miles northeast of Las Vegas, the St. George area has certainly emerged in recent years as an outstanding golf destination. There are close to 15 courses available to the public, but more importantly, many of these courses are exceptional – like the nationally acclaimed Sand Hollow Golf Club – and most recently, Black Desert Resort, which is not only playing host to an event on the PGA Tour, but also the LPGA Tour.

On several holes the surrounds give you options via playing along a contour that will feed the ball towards a hole location, and conversely, several where the intelligent strategy is to simply play away from a certain hole location. In some cases, firing at the flag may be too enticing to pass up, but just know, it’s likely to be "fools gold."

Similar to the boom that the Southwest of Ireland saw about 20 years ago when courses like Ballybunion, Portmarnock, Tralee, Lahinch, Waterville, and Dooks Golf Club started to make their way onto more golfer’s itineraries, Northwest Ireland is quickly becoming the new “go-to” region for a golf trip as you can find equally great experiences all while stretching your dollar quite a bit further. One of our favorite spots for a golf trip in Colorado is the often-overlooked area of Colorado Springs.
