French Lick Resort expands golf offering with new Sand Creek Course

French Lick Resort has long stood the test of time as one of the best golf resorts in the Midwest.  Like any good leader in their category, they have consistently looked for new ways to enhance the experience for their guests.

With the demand for golf reaching record numbers at the resort, the team at French Lick wanted to expand the golf offering for guests all while paying homage to the heritage of the resort as a short course once existed here in the early 1900s.

With those elements in mind, French Lick Resort has created the new Sand Creek Course, a nine-hole short course that is now open for play.

The Sand Creek Course features holes that range from 41 yards to 90 yards, and it is conveniently located next to the Valley Links Course and the driving range. They’ve set the course up to be fun and friendly for all to enjoy. It is playable enough for beginners to feel welcome and challenging enough for good players to test their short game prowess.

Clubs and balls will be provided with your green fee, or you can play with your own equipment if you prefer.

The course was designed by the agronomy team from The Pete Dye Course at French Lick, and they did a great job of incorporating elements from the Dye Course as well as the Donald Ross Course into the design of these nine holes, including elements such as the iconic volcano bunkers and railway ties that are synonymous with elite Dye designs.

Overall, it’s another wonderful element that has been added into the French Lick Resort experience and yet another piece of what makes this resort so special.  To learn more about all of the great golf that French Lick Resort has to offer, see our story here to learn more about this special destination.
