Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
A golf trip to Vegas. There aren’t many words that get the boys more excited than the thought of playing a world-class course during the day, eating a world-class steak at a top-tier restaurant and some time on the gaming floor at night.
Enter Las Vegas.
And when it comes to golfing in this promised land, one property can deliver you three Pete Dye designs and is located only about 20-25 minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip.
This gem of a destination is known as the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort.
The resort features the Sun Mountain Course, the Snow Mountain Course, and the WOLF.
Breaking down the courses at Las Vegas Paiute
Each course offers its own set of challenges, but the WOLF is known as the most difficult as it can play as the longest course in the state of Nevada. It also features the gorgeous 15th hole, a par-3 island green that features the area mountains in the backdrop of your sight line creating one of the most beautiful, yet challenging, holes you’ll find in Las Vegas.
Snow Mountain was the first design onsite, and in true Pete Dye fashion you’ll find plenty of water hazards, railroad-tie bunkers, and a great collection of par-3s. This course is a little easier tee to green than the others onsite, but don’t think that means that it is easy for a second as you’ll find a lot of great risk-reward shots here throughout your round.
Sun Mountain is a favorite among the locals, and it naturally blends into the desert landscape. As Pete Dye was known to do, this course can mess with you visually off the tee but there is usually more of a landing area than there appears to be off the tee so don’t let a little fear keep your ball out of the short grass.
We find all three of the courses at Paiute to be distinct and enjoyable, and you can’t go wrong playing any of these great layouts.
Owned and operated by the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe, these three courses are fortunate to run with a distinct advantage as they can run water through their own well system versus other golf courses in the area that are subject to water restrictions. This means that you can expect striped, green fairways on a regular basis during your visits to this area. There’s nothing like seeing a lush, green landing area in the middle of the Las Vegas desert to create a picture-perfect setting for your Las Vegas golf getaway.

Booking a stay-and-play vacation
When it comes to booking a stay-and-play vacation that includes the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, we suggest booking a multi-round package as that is where you can get the most value for your dollar.
Even though the word “resort” is in their name, they do not own a hotel property which we think serves them well currently because it gives golfers the ability to choose their hotel of choice on the Strip to maximize the off-course activities of their preference.
Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort has been able to secure special hotel rates with partners over the years, and most recently they have had a relationship with the team at MGM Resorts International so you can inquire about any deals they currently have with their team when you are booking your rounds of golf.
Throughout the year, the team at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort offers golfers 20% off for multiple days of play. This discount is only applied after the original day of play, and any subsequent rounds must be played within a seven-day window of the original round. Please note that this discount does not apply to replay, local, tournament, or any other discounted rates.
For those looking to enjoy the perfect golf day during the peak season of the year (defined as March-May and September-November in 2024), there is a special Golfapalooza package that includes two rounds of golf in one day, lunch, and 50% off rental clubs. This package is available in 2024 for $354 Monday through Thursday and $404 Friday to Sunday. That’s quite a steal!
Whether you play one or all three of these courses during your visit, you’ll love the experience at Paiute. The customer service is top-notch, the courses are always in great shape, and hopefully you’ll find that the tables treat you as well as the fairways do here during your Las Vegas golf trip.
