There’s something about sports that makes all of our lives better. There’s nothing like watching your favorite NFL or college team on the weekend score on a last-minute drive, or even better talking some trash with your friends on the course as they walk away a little lighter as you’ve taken some money out of their pocket.
As much as we love watching and playing our favorite past times, one of the things you simply must love about sports is how much they can get behind a cause and the impact that they can make. This month, many players, leagues and professional sports organizations shift that focus onto Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and you can expect to see players in all levels of sports rocking some pink throughout October in support of a great cause.
This got us thinking about looking into some of the companies in our great game that are lending a helping hand this month to generate awareness and donations to breast cancer awareness and research, so we’ve highlighted a few items here from a few of our favorites that are raising money to support this worthy effort.
SQAIRZ
The team at SQAIRZ has gone all-in to help this incredible cause as they have joined forces with the American Cancer Society and embraced their “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign to come out with a pair of both men’s and women’s golf shoes that integrate pink into their color schemes as well as including the famous ribbon logo to support this incredible charity.
The CEO and Founder of SQAIRZ, Robert Winskowicz, cares deeply about this cause, and when he was asked about why he and the team at SQAIRZ were getting involved he replied, “This is a deeply personal issue to me. I lost my brother to cancer, and I would do anything to prevent this from happening to another family. Whether it’s breast cancer or otherwise, this is a disease that has affected so many. I’ve really come to understand through my own experiences and the many other families I’ve met that are going through the same thing, what a devastating effect this disease has on families. We are supporting the ACS because so many millions have been positively affected by their great work and the golf community can do so much to spread education, awareness, and help to contribute to a worthy cause.”
